MarsChapel Observatory is a small private observatory in Marshchapel, rural Lincolnshire, UK, created for observing and photographing the sky.
At its heart is a practical lift-off-roof astro shed housing a 10-inch Sky-Watcher Quattro Newtonian on a Sky-Watcher equatorial/alt-azimuth mount. A dedicated mini PC running N.I.N.A. controls the imaging system. It may be more modest than a professional dome, but it gives the main deep-sky rig a permanent, protected home and makes it much easier to take advantage of clear nights.
Alongside the main telescope, MarsChapel Observatory operates a portable wide-field imaging rig, a Coronado PST solar telescope for viewing the Sun in hydrogen-alpha light, and an AllSky camera providing a live view of the sky above the observatory.
